For as far back as recorded history Maryland has been a place that many call home. Everyone from Native Americans to early European settlers, from the Cabots to the O’Malleys (our current Governor in 2010), Maryland is a state rich in tradition and holds a unique place in American History. Once John Adams wanted Annapolis Maryland to be our nation’s capital. Instead, today Maryland is home to the Baltimore Orioles (baseball) and the Baltimore Ravens (football), as well as the University of Maryland and the U.S. Naval Academy. Top companies like Black & Decker Corp., Constellation Energy Group Inc., Legg Mason Inc., McCormick & Co., and T. Rowe Price are headquarted in Maryland.

Although small in size, the state has four distinct regions, including the city of Baltimore and its suburbs, Washington DC and its suburbs, Western Maryland, and the Eastern Shore. From the mountains of western Maryland to the seashore along the Alantic Ocean, Maryland boast social, cultural, economic, demographic and geological diversity where anyone can find someplace to call home.
